Opening on June 16, 2016, For the First Time in Forever: a Frozen Sing Along Celebration is a live interactive show perfect for Frozen fans of every age. But how scary is the Frozen Sing Along? Let’s take a look at the stats:

frozen sing along

1. Ride Length

The Frozen Sing Along has a duration of approximately 30 minutes. As a stage show with live actors and various stage effects, it can of course, be a bit longer or shorter by a few minutes.

2. Height Requirement and Warnings

The Frozen Sing Along has no height requirement or official warnings from Disney. This could make it a great option for the whole family.

3. Ride Vehicles and Restraints

The Frozen Sing Along theater is large, indoors, and often a full house – meaning you’ll need to fill in all available space between you and others around you. While I was unable to find the actual theater capacity, I would estimate it to be around the same size as Muppet Vision 3D, which seats almost 600 guests. There are no ride restraints and the theater seats do not move in any way.

4. How Does The Frozen Sing Along Work?

The Frozen Sing Along works like a standard stage show, utilizing live actors, practical effects like falling “snow”, and a large screen. Some of the dialoguemusic, and other sound design is piped-in and the actors often interact with the audience from on-stage.

5. Is The Frozen Sing Along Scary?

The Frozen Sing Along is not intentionally scary whatsoever. However, it’s important to note that this theater can get very loud – especially with many audience members singing along at the top of their lungs. It’s a bit like a concert in this way, and some sensory sensitive guests could be a bit bothered by the noise level coming not just from the stage but from the people around you.

In addition, some guests may be caught off guard by the falling “snow” that rains down on the audience during Elsa’s big number as well as the concert-like lighting effects throughout the show.

The large screen also plays short clips from the Frozen movie – including the scene where Anna and Elsa’s parents die. The cast briefly acknowledges it, albeit in a light and funny way.

6. How High is The Frozen Sing Along?

The Frozen Sing Along does not involve heights. As a standard Disney stage show, you and your seat remain on the ground at all times.

7. How Fast is The Frozen Sing Along?

The Frozen Sing Along does not go fast. Unlike some Disney shows, there are no moving seats or even rushing visuals on screen, meaning you will of course remain stationary for the entire duration.

8. Does The Frozen Sing Along Have Drops?

The Frozen Sing Along does not have drops. In fact, there is no movement or thrill ride elements whatsoever on this attraction.

9. Does The Frozen Sing Along Cause Motion Sickness?

The Frozen Sing Along should not cause motion sickness for most riders. With its large, air-conditioned theater and lack of any rushing visuals or spinning, there is really nothing in this attraction that could cause nausea.

10. Is The Frozen Sing Along Claustrophobic?

The Frozen Sing Along should not feel claustrophobic for most guests. With its high ceilings and interactive elements, this show does not feel very confining, in my opinion. In addition, you can always see a cast member and exit at any time. While it may be difficult to get around the other guests packed in around you, you can try sitting at the end of a row or back of the theater for an easier exit.

11. Are There Animatronics on The Frozen Sing Along?

There are no animatronics in the Frozen Sing Along.

The Frozen Sing Along Queue Walkthrough

The queue entrance is located near Echo Lake in Hollywood studios. Once entering the turnstiles, you will be led into a large covered area with some fans and screens to queue up for the next show. Like many other Disney shows, you will simply wait outside the doors for the next show to begin. When the doors open, you will be allowed inside to find your seats.

The show begins with Anna welcoming you to the celebration and introducing the royal historians of Arendelle. These colorful characters recount the story of their kingdom while Anna sets off to look for her sister, Elsa. Most of the show involves the historians going through the story of Frozen beat by beat, stopping for a sing-along when they come to each song from the movie.

About 3 quarters of the way through the show, Kristoff makes an appearance and speaks to everyone briefly before heading off to help Anna find Elsa. The historians finish the story with more sing-alongs before Elsa finally makes an appearance and the whole cast sings “Let it Go” together as “snow” rains down on the audience. With that, the show comes to an end, and you’ll be free to exit the theater.

That’s it! Remember, everyone’s riding experience is a little bit different and only you can decide whether to hop on that ride vehicle or not. I just hope this guide helps you be prepared and enjoy every second of your Disney experience!
