Look Out For: spinning and little space between you and other guests
Opening on October 1st, 1971, Prince Charming Regal Carrousel is a classic opening day attraction that has been charming guests for decades. But how scary is Prince Charming Regal Carrousel? Let’s take a look at the stats:
1. Ride Length
Prince Charming Carrousel has a ride duration of only 2 minutes. However, it’s important to note that you may spend a good bit of time waiting for the ride to begin or during loading and unloading,
2. Height Requirement and Warnings
Prince Charming Carrousel has no height requirements or official warnings from Disney.
3. Ride Vehicles and Restraints
The Prince Charming Carrousel ride vehicles consist of individual horses each seating a single guest. Like most carousels, this attraction does offer a bench-type seat alternative for those who choose not to “ride” the horses. In addition, each horse has a basic seatbelt restraint.
4. How Does Prince Charming Regal Carrousel Work?
Prince Charming Carrousel works like a standard carousel you’d find at any mall or fairground, rotating the ride vehicles in a fixed circle for the entire duration.
5. Is Prince Charming Regal Carrousel Scary?
Prince Charming Carrousel is not intentionally scary whatsoever. With it’s family-friendly tone and whimsical music, this attraction is definitely marketed towards little ones. It’s certainly no more intense than any other carousel, but it’s worth noting that some sensitive riders could potentially be overwhelmed by the loud music or spinning motion.
For most guests, however, its lack of any spooky theming or even dark settings makes this attraction a great one for those who may be easily frightened on other rides.
6. How High is Prince Charming Regal Carrousel?
Prince Charming Carrousel does not involve heights. Like many other spinning flat rides, there is no elevation whatsoever.
7. How Fast is Prince Charming Regal Carrousel?
Prince Charming Carrousel does not go fast. While perhaps a bit faster than the slow crawl you’ll find on Pirates of the Caribbean, I would compare the speed of this attraction to any other standard carousel.
8. Does Prince Charming Regal Carrousel Have Drops?
Prince Charming Carrousel does not have drops. Aside from the obvious spinning motion, there are no other thrill elements on this attraction.
9. Does Prince Charming Regal Carrousel Cause Motion Sickness?
Prince Charming Carrousel may cause motion sickness to some riders. While the outdoor setting and lack of any screens or 4D effects certainly help, this attraction is still – at its core – a spinning ride. If you or anyone in your party has trouble with Dumbo the Flying Elephant or other similar attractions, you may want to skip out on this one.
10. Is Prince Charming Regal Carrousel Claustrophobic?
Prince Charming Carrousel should not feel claustrophobic for most riders. As mentioned before, there is a small, fabric seat belt, but the outdoor setting and short ride duration make it a very non-confining ride, in my opinion.
It’s worth noting, however, that there will be limited space between you and the guests around you. The horses are situated in rows of five, so the chances of you being surrounded on all sides by other riders is very high.
11. Are There Animatronics on Prince Charming Regal Carrousel?
There are no animatronics on Prince Charming Carrousel.
Prince Charming Regal Carrousel Queue Walkthrough
The queue entrance is located outside in the Fantasyland section of Magic Kingdom. Once entering the line, you will simply wind around the outside of the attraction until you get to the loading station. This queue is very similar to the Mad Tea Party right across the park and does include some cover from sun and a few fans. Even so, I would not recommend spending too long in this line on an especially hot summer afternoon.
Prince Charming Regal Carrousel Ride Walkthrough
This ride is extremely straightforward, simply rotating in a fixed circle for 2 minutes while whimsical music plays. Aside from it being just like any other carousel you may have experienced, you can also see the attraction in is entirety from outside the queue. Just sit back and enjoy the ride! Before you know it, your horse will slow to a stop and you’ll be on your way.
That’s it! Remember, everyone’s riding experience is a little bit different and only you can decide whether to hop on that ride vehicle or not. I just hope this guide helps you be prepared and enjoy every second of your Disney experience!
