Look Out For: loud fireworks and music as well as one spooky scene with villains projected on the castle
Opening on October 1st, 2021, Disney Enchantment is Magic Kingdom’s current and iconic fireworks display. But how scary is Disney Enchantment? Let’s take a look at the stats:
1. Ride Length
Disney Enchantment has a duration of approximately 15 minutes. As a large-scale show with fireworks, it can of course, be a bit longer or shorter by a few minutes due to delays.
2. Height Requirement and Warnings
Disney Enchantment has no height requirement or official warnings from Disney. However, I would lightly caution those especially prone to sensory sensitivity or guests who are easily frightened by loud fireworks. Be sure to see the Is It Scary section for more details.
3. Ride Vehicles and Restraints
The Disney Enchantment show is standing-room only. With its lack of a theater or any ride vehicles of any kind, there are obviously no restraints or moving seats whatsoever. Like all Disney fireworks displays, this attraction is entirely outside. However, since every show takes place after dark, there is no need for roofing or cover from the sun.
4. How Does Disney Enchantment Work?
Disney Enchantment works by utilizing fireworks as well as lighting and projection effects. All of the dialogue, music, (and various other noises) are piped-in and all of the character appearances and scenes are projected on Cinderella Castle.
5. Is Disney Enchantment Scary?
Disney Enchantment is not intentionally scary. However, as a fireworks display, the entire show features loud music and sound design, some potentially chaotic or overwhelming visuals, and many practical effects that could pose a problem to those prone to sensory sensitivity. While it’s without a doubt an incredible show, just be aware of what to expect if you or anyone in your party might be sensitive to loud fireworks or light shows.
In addition, there is one scene featuring the soundtrack to “Night on Bald Mountain” that begins with a crackle of lightning and ominous, red lighting. We see many of our Disney heroes battling evil forces via projections and there are a few villainous appearances like Chernabog and Te Kā from Moana. It’s not nearly as intense as the villain scene from Fantasmic over in Hollywood Studios, but it’s worth noting for anyone who may be sensitive so spooky theming, music, and characters.
6. How High is Disney Enchantment?
Disney Enchantment does not involve heights. As with any Disney fireworks show, you will of course remain on the ground at all times.
7. How Fast is Disney Enchantment?
Disney Enchantment does not go fast. Unlike some Disney shows, there are no 4D effects or moving seats, meaning you will remain stationary for the entire duration.
8. Does Disney Enchantment Have Drops?
Disney Enchantment does not have drops. In fact, there is no movement or thrill ride elements whatsoever on this attraction.
9. Does Disney Enchantment Cause Motion Sickness?
Disney Enchantment should not cause motion sickness for most guests. With its outdoor setting and lack of any rushing visuals, spinning, or 4D effects, there is really nothing in this attraction that could cause nausea.
10. Is Disney Enchantment Claustrophobic?
Disney Enchantment should not feel claustrophobic for most guests. With its entirely outdoor setting, this show does not feel confining whatsoever. As with most fireworks displays (like Harmonious in Epcot), you can simply step away at any time without having to alert a cast member or having to worry about bothering the other guests around you.
11. Are There Animatronics on Disney Enchantment?
There are no animatronics on Disney Enchantment. The Disney characters that make an appearance are simply projected on Cinderella Castle.
Disney Enchantment Queue Walkthrough
This attraction is located at Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom. As a fairly standard fireworks display at its core (like Harmonious over in Epcot) it technically has no queue or entrance of any kind – allowing you to simply approach the castle and enjoy the show at your leisure. This particular show has just one specific showtime every night, so you simply have to make your way to the castle beforehand and find a good spot for your party. That being said, it’s never a bad idea to arrive early to get the best view.
Disney Enchantment Walkthrough
The show begins with a voiceover telling us that “once upon a time, it all began with a dream.” You’re then treated to a brilliant medley of Disney songs set to projections, lighting effects, and fireworks – celebrating the magic within us all.
If you’re interested in seeing the full lineup, the song list is as follows:
- “When You Wish Upon a Star” from Pinocchio
- “You are the Magic” (Enchantment Theme Song)
- “The Second Star to the Right” from Peter Pan
- “Almost There” from The Princess and the Frog
- “Just Around the Riverbend” from Pocahontas
- “We Know the Way” from Moana
- “Be Our Guest” from Beauty and the Beast
- “Under the Sea” from the Little Mermaid
- “You’ve got a Friend in Me” from Monsters, Inc.
- “I’ve Got No Strings” from Pinnochio
- “A Whole New World” from Aladdin
- “You Can Fly” from Peter Pan
- “Into the Unknown” from Frozen II
- “Night on Bald Mountain” from Fantasia
- “I Am Moana” from Moana
That’s it! Remember, everyone’s riding experience is a little bit different and only you can decide whether to hop on that ride vehicle or not. I just hope this guide helps you be prepared and enjoy every second of your Disney experience!
